We recently got a nice email from Matthew Perpick about their Nine Rivers Documentary. They took canoes on a thousand kilometer trip: “The journey begins in Pickle Lake, where Ontario’s paved roads end, and follows nine rivers that cross three watersheds on the way to Fort Severn, a small community on the shores of the Bay. The route is as difficult as it is varied. Cutting over a thousand kilometres of Canadian Shield, it includes massive rivers and nameless creeks, upstream slogs and whitewater runs.”

According to Matt, “Planning the trip and the movie, one of my biggest worries was making sure the cameras kept running. If the charger died, our movie would die with it. But the system worked flawlessly. We put it through hell – pouring rain, many miles of getting banged around in the boats and on portages, and it kept on chugging. I would use it again in a heartbeat.”

They used Voltaic’s 16 Watt Solar Charger Kit to charge two Canon 5D cameras, two GoPro cameras, a digital audio recorder and a Macbook to transfer files from the cards to hard drives.
