Photographer Alex di Suvero recently rigged up a solution to power his ASUS WiCast when on a shoot. The WiCast transmits footage from his HDSLR camera to a remote monitor.
Our USB V11 battery outputs USB spec 5V, 600mA but wasn’t enough to fully power the WiCast when connected to the 5V DC In. Alex plugged a second V11 into the USB port and was able to transmit for 5 plus hours in initial tests. This means he can monitor a full day’s shoot with the WiCast ($200) and two V11s ($80). My guess is that our upcoming tablet battery with its higher output (2,000mA) will probably be able to do the job on its own.
