If you don’t think it makes sense to carry an AC charger for your laptop and for our V60 Universal Laptop Battery included with our solar laptop chargers, you’re not alone.

We developed a set of adapters that allow you to connect the AC Charger that came with your laptop to our V60.

If you already have one of our V60 batteries, determine the letter of the adapter that connects into your laptop with the best fit. Then get the corresponding adapter from the section entitled: “Adapters for Connecting Laptop AC Charger to V60 Battery – M 5.5 x 2.1mm to:“. Currently, we don’t have AC charger adapters to match all of our laptop adapters, so be sure you find the right match for your laptop. You can also pick up the set of 6 for $15.

Sorry, this doesn’t work if you have a MacBook.

It is actually possible to rip apart a magsafe-to-magsafe2 converter using a vise to hold the magsafe side and pliers to grasp and remove the magsafe2 side. Once you desolder the pins you have a pair of usable connectors. Be sure to use a towel or something else to protect the connectors from scratches.

Hi Matthias – Nice, we’ll have to try this soon. Please send us pics if you have them and we can share your process with others. /jeff

Well bummer that this isn’t possible with MacBook chargers. I can see why, but lugging the V60’s brick is a pain in the redundancy.

Hi Ben, We’ll look for the female end of a MacBook and if we can find one (or you can find one and mail it to us), we’ll hack one for you. /jeff
