Crystal Nadeau will be trekking to Mt. Everest Base Camp in May 2013 in support of the non-profit organization, Flying Kites.  The organization, based in Nairobi, Kenya cares for homeless, orphaned and abused children in an extraordinary way.

Crystal is raising funds and awareness in order to help create school based communities for homeless and orphaned children in third world countries, specifically focusing her efforts on Kenya and Nepal.

The U.N. has estimated the population of street children worldwide at 150 million. Of the world, Nepal and Kenya contain among the highest rate of homeless children living in the worst conditions. We can control the root cause and create a solution by breaking the cycle, by creating an environment for these children to be given intrinsic human rights. We can inspire change. It’s time to give the world back to our children.

Crystal will be using her Fuse 4W Solar Charger, car charger socket and Flexlight to keep her Android smartphone and Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF3W all charged up. The latter she will be using to take pictures and record video for a documentary of the orphanages and homeless children in Kathmandu.

Congratulations to Crystal and we wish her the best with her noble endeavor!
