We don’t have this problem in the city, but given the number of entries on this topic, we realized that it was an issue for many of you. Our fifth winner of our Solar Power My Project Contest is going to mod his mailbox to send out photo-snapshots to Twitter, Tumblr, etc. plus show a “you’ve got mail” LED indicator. If it works, we’ll all know when he gets his Publisher’s Clearing House contest has arrived.
The proposed system will be using an Arduino, Wifi shield, TTL camera and our 6 Watt Solar Charger Kit.
Current consumption should be pretty low, but this is going to Seattle where they have some poor solar conditions in winter months. We think the 6 Watt panel and V15 battery should be able to manage though.
