After Sandy, we deployed and installed hundreds of solar phone chargers and light systems. We mounted a 3.4 Watt solar panel outside using double-sided sticky tape and connected it to our V11 USB Battery inside the window. By placing the panel outside the window, we could generate at least twice as much power during the day in most situations.

It worked well, but we’ve come up with two more elegant solutions for mounting on the exterior of a window. The first uses zipties with holes at the end. We attach one to each corner of a panel.

From there, it is pretty simple to secure it outside a window as long as you have some sort of structure out there. I clipped the ends off of the zip tie so no shadows fell across the panels.

    Hi,
Are the Zipties or Suction Cups (still) available? I’m just placing an order but don’t see how to add them.
    Thanks,
