SweetSense is a Portland based company that builds remote monitoring for global development projects like water pumps, water filters, cookstoves and latrines. In one of their latest projects, they are monitoring borehole sites in Ethiopia and Kenya.
The sensors are mounted on the electrical powerlines of pumps to measure when they are activated.
The SweetSense box (in green) collects data wirelessly from the sensors and transmits it via cellular or Iridium satellite to a monitoring dashboard.
The systems are powered by our 2 or 3.5 Watt solar panels mounted on a custom bracket.
