From December 15th to January 15th while we were complaining about the cold and snow up here in New York, the Climber Science team was making their way across Costa Rica by kayak, mountain bike and their own two feet. This was the first ever Central American Coast to Coast Environmental Transect. Along the way, they took high quality video and sound recordings for Costa Rican Ministry of the Environment and their National Park Service including bird and frog calls. They also collected samples of black carbon in water, cloud particles and water quality samples at every major waterway.
It was a very intense and physically demanding trip and one of the key pieces of gear were their Delorme and Garmin GPS systems. They used our 6 Watt and 16 Watt Solar Chargers to keep them powered up.
