Meet the MilliAmp, the Amp’s younger sibling we’re showing off at CES in Las Vegas this week. We’re aiming to have this available in the Spring for $65.
We created the the MilliAmp in order to provide great solar charging value. It has a single 2.0 Watt panel, about 2-4 times the amount of power as other chargers in this price range. It’s internal battery pack does double duty – it stores power so it can charge phones and other handhelds anytime AND acts as a AA/AAA battery charger.
The two (included) AA batteries store the equivalent of about 1500 mAh, about 3/4 a full smartphone charge. Unlike all the other double AA chargers we’ve seen, the battery pack can take a charger (from sunlight or a USB port) and discharge to a phone at the same time.

    Hi Will,

We had more challenges with the design of this charger than we expected. There are some complicated issues with NiMh batteries and solar we needed to work out before we were satisfied.

We still plan on releasing it and hope to have it out in a few months but don’t have a definite date yet. It will definitely be available separately as we think most people will use it as an add-on. In the meantime, there are a lot of AA chargers that plug right into the USB port on the battery that work pretty well. This isn’t the most efficient solution, but it does work.

    Hi,
Are you planning on having the AA Battery Charger available separately (like the V11 & V39 Battery)? If so, when do you anticipate to release it? If not, do you know anything out there that will charge directly from your solar panels? The Sanyo eneloop have great reviews relative to rechargable batteries, but will it work with the Solar panels? Thanks.

    P.S. I have the Fuse.
