We believe LEDs are going to be one of the most transformative technologies of the next twenty years. In the developed world, they will eventually replace fluorescent and incandescant lights. In the developing world, they will replace fossil-fuel based lighting such as kerosene lanterns. In both cases, they will decrease the expense and carbon of lighting our spaces. They are also really fun to play around with.
